System of psychological vectors

The Smartest

Intelligence or Speed

It's time to talk about the blue vector. Its undeniable strengths are high intelligence, erudition, and creative thinking. Indeed, Blues are the most suited for intellectual activity among all eight vectors. Their excellent memory allows them to retain a wealth of necessary information, and their extensive knowledge in various fields makes them members of intellectual clubs and social circles. A significant portion of the vibrant participants in the game "What? Where? When?" consists of individuals with a developed blue vector.

The only issue Blues face in the intellectual realm is their low speed in processing information. These are the kids who often receive poor grades in school despite their giftedness: they know more than others but frequently struggle to reproduce information quickly — it's simply how their unique memory mechanism operates. Even questions that a student (in the teacher's opinion) should be able to answer instantly — “you could wake them up at night,” cause a brief pause for the Blue child; however, their eventual answer will be incredibly accurate and to the point.

As these children grow up, the amount of information in their heads increases significantly, but the speed of retrieval does not improve. Therefore, the main rule to follow when communicating with Blue individuals (both at work and in daily life) is to avoid rushing them for a response to a question or suggestion, always allowing them time to think. Their pace of life, much like their thought process, is very measured; they are in no rush and even move very smoothly.

Calmness is Only External

Due to their outward calmness and composure, Blues are considered the most conflict-free people on the planet (little do others know that emotions within them rage as fiercely as they do in Greens). They never shout, argue, or attempt to impose their viewpoints on others. Advocating for their rights is not typical for Blues; they may only gently and cleverly hint at their desires or grievances, and if they are not understood, they simply walk away in silence. However, unlike Violets, they are not prone to holding grudges; they know people too well and understand the imperfections of human nature.

For many leaders, such behavior from Blue employees can come as an unpleasant surprise: they are used to being able to debate or negotiate with subordinates, and it is usually apparent in advance when someone is preparing to quit. In this case, the situation unfolds unpredictably: a Blue will silently place their resignation letter on the desk and will not discuss options or explain their reasons. They possess the unique ability to maintain their dignity without offending those around them (which cannot be said for Reds and Violets). Perhaps Blues have too few strings for others to play upon, as it is often said that they are the hardest people to communicate with.

Similarly, Blue clients behave in this manner: they rarely insist on their opinions, although they always have one. If something doesn't suit them, they simply stop using your services, leaving you to guess what they like and what they do not.

How to Identify a Blue

Externally, the Blue vector resembles the violet one in many ways (except for the prominent nose and haughty expression). They tend to wear understated clothing in dark colors, with minimal or no makeup and no attention-grabbing details. A characteristic feature of this vector is the ears: they can be large or slightly protruding, may have an unusual shape, or stand out in some other way.

Due to physiological characteristics and a calm attitude toward food, Blue people are often slender, their posture can be somewhat slouched, and their handshake is usually weak and uncertain. Their faces may draw attention because of deeply set eyes, which the person tends to partially close during communication (or they may gaze into the distance, as if looking through objects). This behavior might be a way to reduce the influx of visual information and focus exclusively on their main perceptual channel—hearing (according to common classifications, Blues are indeed auditory types).

These individuals often cover their sensitive ears with headphones or long hair (left down, rather than tied back like those of Oranges). Their facial expressions are limited, and they gesture infrequently: they may occasionally touch their ear, revealing their significant zone. In situations of intense emotional stress, they sometimes cradle their heads in their hands, effectively closing off their ears.

The speech of Blue people is quiet, smooth, and melodic; they speak rather slowly and appreciate when others communicate in the same manner. In social settings, they are often silent, preferring to listen rather than speak, avoiding loud parties, having a low tolerance for alcohol, and generally being indifferent to cigarettes. A Blue person's sense of humor is always very subtle and intellectual; they are simply incapable of crudeness or direct innuendo.

Music and Silence

Of course, headphones serve Blue individuals not only as a cover for their sensitive ears but primarily help them immerse themselves in the pleasant state brought by their favorite melodies. It’s worth noting that Blues have a special relationship with music from a young age. Many of them are fortunate enough to possess excellent musical hearing, but even those whose talent is less developed attach great importance to the harmonious sounds around them.

Blues strive to equip all their environments with high-quality audio equipment. At home, in the workplace, and in their cars, there should be no fewer than four speakers; ideally, there should be eight or twelve.

Their keen hearing becomes not only a source of musical and poetic abilities but also the cause of many problems. Some Blues can only work productively in absolute silence, free from any extraneous sounds: no sniffling, coughing, or noisy printers, etc. Since such ideal conditions are unimaginable in a collaborative work setting, they prefer to work alone (most often at a computer) or "isolate" themselves from their surroundings with their favorite headphones.

Silence — a Sign of Agreement?

High intelligence and depth make Blue individuals very perceptive. They are sensitive to those around them, never boast about their intellect, but they also don't let themselves be deceived: even if they have prominent ears, you won't be able to pull the wool over their eyes. Blues can easily detect lies by the subtlest nuances in voice, making it utterly pointless to lie to them. If you do deceive them, the delicate Blue person will never show that they’ve caught you in a lie; they will simply draw conclusions about the viability of future communication.

An interesting characteristic of Blue individuals during personal interactions is that when they attentively listen to someone, they occasionally nod slightly. An inexperienced conversational partner may get the impression that the Blue person agrees with most of the statements being made. However, the Blue person is merely nodding involuntarily as a sign that they have heard and understood, which has absolutely nothing to do with agreement.

This scenario can often be observed in stores selling audio equipment or computers (items that are of significant interest to many Blue individuals). A young Yellow sales consultant uses all their eloquence to vividly and thoroughly describe the offered product, while a Blue customer (who has long understood everything and knows what they want) stands nearby and listens attentively, nodding slightly. After exhausting the information about the product and buoyed by the client's attention, the salesperson eventually asks the logical question, “So, should I write up the invoice?” Of course, the response they receive is, “No, sorry, I don’t need it…” Can you imagine the state of someone who has been (allegedly) “in agreement” for 5-10 minutes and then calmly hears, “No”? To avoid getting into such a situation, it’s important not only to practice speaking skills in front of an attentive listener but also to periodically ask the Blue conversational partner for their opinion on the topic.

Strangely enough, in psychological training sessions, salespeople often “complain” not about aggressive or tedious clients — as they can usually find a way to connect with them after several years of work — but rather about those whom they find fundamentally difficult to understand. These characters are often Blues and sometimes Violets as well.

Blue or Green?

In terms of their emotional qualities, Blue individuals are very similar to Green ones: they are kind, responsive, and delicate. If it weren't for their natural introversion, they could be very attentive to those around them. However, in everyday life, it often takes considerable effort to capture their attention. Immersed in their own thoughts, Blues are true introverts living a rich inner life. This introspection may be why they are capable of the deepest feelings found in human relationships. Although they are not outwardly demonstrative, they experience their attachments profoundly, and no one even suspects the passions that simmer beneath the surface of a Blue person.

The thing is, in terms of emotional intensity, Blues are also very much like Greens. However, while Greens constantly express their emotions outwardly, Blues can never allow themselves that luxury. They keep all their feelings bottled up inside, which can sometimes turn into a serious problem. Hidden emotions not only disrupt their peace but can also lead to depression and constant anxiety, ultimately damaging their well-being. Perhaps this is why many Blue individuals suffer from ulcers from a young age.

The Difficulties of Existence

Another factor complicating the interaction of a Blue person with the surrounding world is their unique biorhythm. Blues are true "owls": their most productive times are in the evening and the first half of the night. In contrast, mornings and the beginning of the day are times for rest and peaceful sleep. However, the business world operates on a different schedule, making it very challenging for Blues to adapt to the routines of those around them. Even as students, they often fell asleep during early classes unless they managed to skip them. Consequently, in adulthood, they strive to choose careers that allow for flexible schedules. Many representatives of creative, "bohemian" professions who lead nocturnal lifestyles are undoubtedly vivid examples of the Blue vector.

Blues are particularly sensitive not only to the sound environment around them but also to the "sounds" of nature. They are extremely affected by weather changes, reacting to shifts with changes in their emotional and even physical states. Sometimes, they can predict changes in the weather well in advance.

This innate sensitivity to "cosmic waves" can be so strong that Blues sometimes feel that information arrives in their minds seemingly out of nowhere. Opinions may vary regarding the validity of such claims, but in terms of the ability to foresee situations, Blues can only be compared to the Violet vector.

Like those with the Green vector, Blues are often exceedingly impractical; they struggle to extract benefits (material gains) from their knowledge and abilities, can lead almost impoverished lives, and ultimately may never showcase the fruits of their talents.

The psychological difficulties that Blues while living and interacting in the real world sometimes push them toward the virtual realm. On one hand, this provides a refuge—allowing them to live and realize themselves without leaving their homes. On the other hand, it deprives them of the opportunity to experience many emotions that come with face-to-face interactions. Furthermore, people living offline may never discover the geniuses who live and create in the online world.

It’s clear that a person with such qualities cannot be the head of a company and effectively manage people. The role of Blues in modern business includes being an advisor to management, a programmer or system administrator, or a creator of intellectual or creative products. Blues never seek power and rarely chase after money; they seem to rise above many human passions, understanding the futility of material world achievements.

Interestingly, despite their high intelligence and erudition, some Blues experience incredible difficulties with spelling. This likely stems from childhood and is related to the dominance of auditory memory over visual memory. Blue children write as they hear, and later in adulthood, they must consistently exert significant effort to avoid spelling mistakes. This trait is even more pronounced in those with the Black vector.

Red Is No Friend to Blue

We have already discussed that different vectors within a person can mix in any combination, creating the unique personality traits of each of us. Among all the vector combinations, the pairing of Blue and Red in one individual deserves special attention. Imagine this duo: Red—fast, expressive, enterprising, practical, and grounded; and Blue — slow, introspective, impractical, and elevated. These qualities are so opposite that reconciling them within a single person is extremely challenging. Thus, "Red-Blue" individuals often oscillate between one phase and the other, experiencing intense emotional overload when transitioning between these two states. Some of them manage to deeply understand the essence of both their "parts" and, by paying attention to each, achieve inner harmony.

When it comes to the most compatible vector for a Blue, it is undoubtedly Green. The "Blue-Green" combination is productive, whether it exists within a single person or among two individuals living or working closely together.
